Everything was still, everything was silent. The cherry blossoms twirled as the descended upon the ground, a gentle whirlwind of pale pink. Raychel inhaled, wishing badly to be able to find their tantalizing smell enticing as she once had. Now, they only smelled bitter-sweet. Tastless to her tongue, scentless to her nose. She winced as they hit the ground with muffled sounds to quiet for human ears. Sometimes life as a vampire was dull, other times it was amazing. Right now, she missed human life. Her finely tuned ears picked up the sound of footsteps too far off to be determined if they were human of not. She quickly darted out of the lit streetlamp and into the shadows, allowing them to swallow her whole.

Xiu stepped off her train, she had had a long, solitary day at Madame Puddifoot's. Only one customer, a rather pitiful turnout. It was the same little old lady that came every afternoon, she had hot tea and a blueberry scone. Xiu sighed lightly to herself as she began to walk. The darkness of the evening was already getting to her, and she still had to wait twenty minutes for the train that would take her home. Xiu looked around at the now deserted train station, and in finding it supposedly empty, allowed a small ball of light to form at the tip of her finger, giving her comfort.
((OOC: Hey, I think Xiu and Raychel should automatically not like each other because she is a darkness elemental while Xiu controls light, what do you think?))

Raychel watched the girl enter the perimeter warily. There was something that instantly repelled her, something internal. And it didn't help she smelled terrible. She was human, but her blood was in no way appetizing. Raychel continued to watch her for signs of something, and soon she recieved an answer. The girl controlled light. The power tainted the girl's blood, her soul, making her unappetizing and forcing Raychel to automatically dislike her. She felt her top lip pulling into a disgusted sneer, but she merely pulled herself farther into her beloved shadows.

Xiu looked down the tracks impatiently, it always made her nervous when she had to wait for trains by herself after dark, but she didn't dare make her ball of light any bigger, just in case there happened to be muggles around. Xiu could not shrug off the feeling that she was being watched, but wasn't sure if she was just being paranoid or if there was really someone there. And if there was, Xiu was not going to draw attention to herself in looking for whomever was staring at her.

Raychel concealed a smirk and a small chuckle as the girl's pulse raced. It was typical, a light elemental afraid of the dark. Too amusing. she thought solemnly. She remained hidden, watching her. She wanted to come out of the shadows, to scare her, to do something that removed this uncomfortable itch from her skin. Her fingers twitched slightly, itching to bend the darkness towards the girl. Being a creature of the night, she enjoyed the dark, enjoyed what it could do to people. It was amusing to watch little girls and boys running from the room when the lights flicked off. It's only just. They should run from monsters like me. Raychel though bitterly.

Xiu's eyes flickered toward the clock at the platform, the train was not yet late, it still had ten whole minutes to get there. But the sooner it did, the better. Truth be told, Xiu was very frightened, she had to resist jumping at any slight noise. She still could not get rid of the feeling that she was being watched. Making a risky move, she made her little ball of light bigger.

Raychel instinctively pulled the shadows around her more tightly in. She hoped desperately that the girl wouldn't look in the corner. To the average human, nothing would truly look off unless you looked very closely. Raychel wasn't that concerned about it, for the girl looked to terrified to even move. She had to bite her lip to keep from scoffing at the girl. Suddenly, Raychel stopped short. For a moment, she felt like her old self. Normal, a prankster, and intelligent. Not forced to grow up too fast, not thrown into the Dark Arts head first. Not alone.

Xiu's ears picked up when she heard the sound of a train in the distance, it had felt like hours. To her dismay, the train pulled instead to the platform directly after hers. She was going to have to wait longer to complete her commute. Xiu regretted having not gone to the Hogsmeade post office to ask Neville to come and apparate her home, her commute in the evening scared her half to death. Xiu was forced to eliminate her ball of light when the train doors opened a few muggles spilled out.

Raychel retracted the shadows, revealing herself. She blended in with the muggles easily, disguising herself from the girl further. As the ball of light extinguished, Raychel felt herself relax. It felt like a silly feeling, to be tense around light. Of course, she was a creature of darkness. It was quite aggravating, but she knew her "fear" -if indeed that's what it was- was for a valid reason. Even if that reason was stupid. After the muggles dispersed, she blended back into the shadows once more, her eyes never leaving the girl's body.

Xiu leaned against the wall, waiting for the train to arrive. She had relaxed slightly when the crowd had gotten off the train, not being entirely alone in the station, but when the muggles had dispersed nervousness set in once more. Xiu had been wondering if she should invest in a cell phone, but everyone she knew was magical and did not own telephones, so there was not really a point. She bit her lip, hoping that the train would come soon.
